A 2017 study from the Center for Economic and Policy Research found that Mexico’s poverty rate has risen since the 1994 implementation of NAFTA, with 20 million additional people now living in poverty – a major factor pushing Mexican migration to the United States.

  1. It’s led* to a decrease in economic well-being in the U.S. too, for people in general as opposed to the richest people. I’m not an expert on the content. I’m also not an expert on migration, but we’re at an low in terms of net numbers of people staying here from Mexico.

    * There might be additional factors.
